About the Company
ARTICUL was founded in 1993 (then Coppa, later joined by Riga Chair Factory) with a focus on high-quality, well-designed, ergonomic office chair manufacturing. Over the years, we have significantly expanded our product range, manufacturing methods, and expertise, as well as implemented a wide range of interior projects for all types of public and private spaces.
Our History
SIA Coppa
Aldis Circenis establishes SIA Coppa Ltd — an interior design company serving the flourishing business environment in Riga in the early 1990s.
SIA Riga Chair Factory
Coppa's sister company begins office chair production, which soon becomes found in many offices, and Riga Chair Factory becomes a recognized brand throughout Latvia.
Company Growth
As the economic situation changes, the company finds a new specialty — bent laminated plywood manufacturing, which interests not only the Latvian but also the European market. The company begins using a new, vibrant logo and the Riga Chairs™ trademark.
Red Dot
One of the company's products — the Bloom stool designed by Alda gains international recognition by receiving the prestigious Red Dot Design Award. This award is soon followed by other design accolades.
School Furniture
As nationwide concerns about children's health and posture grow, the company develops an ergonomic classroom chair and enters the school furniture market, creating modern, thoughtful, and colorful interiors in many schools and universities. To discuss the importance of modern learning environments, the website Skolai.lv is created.

Unification under one brand. With a wide range of products, projects, and specialties that have grown beyond the company's original vision, the Riga Chair Factory brand family chooses a new, unified identity — ARTICUL.
After finishing my architecture studies, I realized that at that time, nobody really needed architects. So I decided to start my own company.
We began with office interior design, and since then, we've grown tremendously.
I believe our success comes from keeping our focus on the product — how it feels, functions, and lives with its user.
